¡Hola! My name is Vanessa, and I’m a proud Latina born and raised in Houston, Texas. Welcome to my little corner of the internet, where I share my life as a mamá Latina in the vibrant city of Houston.

This family blog was born from my desire to share lifestyle content that integrates our Hispanic roots and traditions with my niños. While there are many mom bloggers out there, I felt there was a lack of information reflecting our cultural heritage. That’s why I decided to document the activities I do with my kids, from DIYs to home décor, outdoor activities, and trips that enrich our lives with our cultura and idioma.

Bagels and Conchas is a comunidad where we share ideas about fun family activities and how to weave our Hispanic heritage into our daily family life. The name "Bagels and Conchas" came from my love for carbs. ¡Me encantan las conchas de pan dulce y los bagels! So I decided to combine them to represent my Mexican and American heritage. Although I was born in Texas, I spent my summers and holidays in Monterrey, NL, México. I have countless memories with my tías in México, celebrating family fiestas and enjoying the hot summers at the rancho with my Ita (abuelita). One of the most cherished recuerdos is the time I spent with my Ita’s tía, Lola, so much so that I named my first daughter after her. She taught me to be proud of my raíces and many other things that have made me the confident Latina I am today.
