Hola! My name is Vanessa and I was born and raised in Houston, Texas.

This blog came out of from my need to share lifestyle content as a Latina mom in Houston, TX. There are a ton of mom bloggers out there but there was something I could not find enough information on and that was incorporating my Hispanic heritage and traditions with my children . So I wanted to start documenting the different activities that I do with my kids. We experiment with DIY's, Home Décor, Outdoor Activities and trips that share our culture and language with our children.

Bagels and Conchas is a community where we can share ideas on fun family activities and how to incorporate our hispanic heritage into the lives of our family. I came up with the name Bagels and Conchas for my love of carbs!!! Me encantan las Conchas de pan dulce and Bagels! So I decided to combine both of them to represent my Mexican Heritage and my American Heritage. I was Born in Texas but I spent my summers and holidays in Monterey NL Mexico. I have a ton of memories with my Tias in Mexico and celebrating holidays with family in Mexico as well as hot summers on the Rancho with my Ita (Abuelita). But one of the most prominent memories is the time I spent with my Ita's auntie Lola. So much that I named may first born daughter after her.  She taught me to be proud of my heritage and many other things that have made me a confident Latina.
